To get married during 2020’s coronavirus pandemic—by having whatever wedding could be safely done—seems almost rebellious. Completely ditching the formality and traditions of what a wedding is culturally supposed to be, canceling plans that have been in place for months, missing reconnections with family and friends… it has been hard to watch couples go through it. The wedding days of 2020 may have little resemblance to what was originally imagined, but the ones I’ve witnessed throughout this season have been incredibly special in a way I haven’t seen before.
